Art On The Avenue is a multi-cultural art festival celebrating our community’s diversity through the arts in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia. In collaboration with our sponsor Waxing The City Alexandria, I had the opportunity to host a pop up. People from all over had the opportunity to view my latest paintings, have great conversations about art, while being able to purchase apparel, prints, small statues, and more. Thank you Art On The Avenue and Waxing The City!

Art on the Avenue was such a fun filled, family experience. The weather was great but the people were amazing. I appreciate all who supported and purchased my artwork and huge thank you to Waxing The City Alexandria! S

It's finally out! So grateful for the opportunity to be drapped in Rihanna's brand FentyxPuma for New York Magazine style section "In The Cut." We hit the streets of Bedstuy, NY to captured by the amazing photographer Erik Tanner, styled by one the best stylist in the game Jahleel Weaver, while working along side models Elias and Jazelle. 

Being on set with everyone was amazing, and got the opportunity to not only model but sit back and watch everyone working to create such splendid art. Thanks again to those responsible for allowing me to be apart of such an amazing experience.

"I had the pleasure in participating in the Macy's Black History Month Event in New York City, February 8th, 2017. First and foremost, I would like thank Kelly for allowing me to be a constituent in this celebration of our beautiful people. I am so grateful to be able apart of a distinguished panel and discuss important issues, our inspirations, Black art, and many more topics with host Crissle West, playwrite Cyrus Aaron, and poet Aja Monet. We listened to powerful messages through spoken word, enjoyed light refreshments, and I also, had the opportunity to paint live, while the attendees watched. Thanks again to everyone that came. It was definitely a night to remember.

The painting I curated during the later part of the event was simply about sharing knowing and paying it forward. Knowledge is power and wisdom is being able to apply that knowledge. As elders to our rising youth, it's only conscientious that we share our knowledge and experience with them, so that they will be ready for what this life has to offer. The piece is titled "Share Love", is 36 inches by 48 inches, and was created using acrylic paint." - Shawn O.
