What an amazing evening at Macy’s located in Harold Square in New York City. This time i had the pleasure of live painting while the legendary designer, Dapper Dan had an in-depth conversation discussing the Harlem Renaissance and its impact on fashion culture. Thank you Macy’s and the event staff for having apart of another event.

Recap: Macy's #BHM Event /
"I had the pleasure in participating in the Macy's Black History Month Event in New York City, February 8th, 2017. First and foremost, I would like thank Kelly for allowing me to be a constituent in this celebration of our beautiful people. I am so grateful to be able apart of a distinguished panel and discuss important issues, our inspirations, Black art, and many more topics with host Crissle West, playwrite Cyrus Aaron, and poet Aja Monet. We listened to powerful messages through spoken word, enjoyed light refreshments, and I also, had the opportunity to paint live, while the attendees watched. Thanks again to everyone that came. It was definitely a night to remember.
The painting I curated during the later part of the event was simply about sharing knowing and paying it forward. Knowledge is power and wisdom is being able to apply that knowledge. As elders to our rising youth, it's only conscientious that we share our knowledge and experience with them, so that they will be ready for what this life has to offer. The piece is titled "Share Love", is 36 inches by 48 inches, and was created using acrylic paint." - Shawn O.
